Ben Hinchey, Director of Coaching
Ben got his start playing competitive soccer in Glen Ellyn when he was nine years old. This includes three seasons on the Glenbard West Boys Varsity Soccer team where he, as a team captain, earned all-conference, all-sectional, and all-area honors. He attended Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was a part of the Division I Men’s Soccer team for four years. During his career at Butler the team was NCAA nationally ranked and highly regarded as a top Midwestern soccer program. Ben has been working with the Raiders as a trainer since 2003. He also organizes and runs the Raiders Youth Summer Camp. He currently holds a ‘D’ level FIFA coaching license. In addition to his soccer experience, Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing degree from Butler and is currently working towards a Master of Arts in Education degree from Benedictine University.
Ben is inspired everyday by the excitement and flair that individual skill can have on the game.

Lisa Hinchey, Trainer
Lisa began her playing career at seven years old with the Lombard Soccer Club. She attended Glenbard South High School where she started for the Girls Varsity Soccer team for four years. She was a team captain and earned all-conference and all-area honors. In 1999 and 2000, Lisa’s team took 2nd and 3rd place in the National Got Milk 3v3 Soccer Championships. Lisa received a scholarship to play Division II soccer at the University of Missouri-Rolla. After one season as a starter with UMR, Lisa transferred to Concordia University of Chicago. During her time at Concordia, Lisa was voted as the team captain and still holds the school record for game winning goals. She was also recognized as an All-Northern Athletics Conference athlete. Lisa trained from 2001 - 2009 with the Glen Ellyn Raiders Soccer Club, and has trained for Synergy ever since. She currently holds a National ‘D’ level FIFA coaching license. In addition to her soccer experience, Lisa holds a Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education-Sociology degree from Concordia University of Chicago.

Dan Warner, Trainer
Dan’s involvement with soccer began almost twenty years ago when his oldest daughter first began playing. Over the years, Dan has trained and/or coached club soccer with the Lombard Soccer Club, Lombard Ladyhawks, Lombard Firebirds, Wheaton Wings, Darien Xtreme, Glen Ellyn Raiders and currently the Synergy Soccer Club. Additionally, he has trained at Glenbard South High School and with the Future Pros Soccer Training Program. Dan has developed teams that have progressed to compete at the highest national levels. He, also, has had much success with teams competing at the National 3 v 3 Championships. Dan started and ran the Raiders Developmental Summer Camps for eight years aimed at developing new, young soccer players technically and tactically. Dozens of players that Dan has trained have or are currently having successful soccer careers at colleges such as University of Iowa, St. Louis University, and Louisiana Tech. Dan holds a National FIFA Coaching License and ISSA Amateur Coaching License. In addition to his soccer experience, Dan is in his 22nd year of teaching at Woodridge School District #68 and holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business and Masters of Art in Teaching Degree.
Dan is inspired by developing the technical and tactical skills of players to not only improve their game but also their love of soccer.

Kelly Warner, Trainer
At six years old, Kelly began playing travel soccer with the Lombard Soccer Club. She was a four-year starter with Glenbard South’s Girls Varsity Soccer team. In her time at Glenbard South, Kelly was named to the all-conference team and the all-area team. She also became one of the top goal scorers in school history. Kelly went on to play at Western Illinois University, where she earned academic and athletic recognition. While playing at Western Illinois University for four years, she was named to the Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence all four years. She also received Academic All-Conference Honors every year. Kelly also finished ranked sixth in school history for career points. Kelly holds a FIFA National ‘D’ Level Coaching License. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, and currently teaches in Wood Dale.
Danielle Warner, Trainer
Danielle has been playing soccer since she was four years old and started playing club soccer for the when she seven years old. She continued to play travel soccer for Raiders Soccer Club from 2000–2009. Danielle helped her team to win elite level tournaments including Granite City Elks Pepsi Classic and the Nike Classic tournaments in 2008. She attended Glenbard South High School where she started for the Girls Varsity Soccer team for four years. She was a team captain and team MVP her senior year. Danielle earned All-Conference and All-Area honors during her high school career. She went onto receive a scholarship to play Division II soccer at Lewis University, where she earned her degree in Marketing. Danielle has been named to the Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Academic team for 3 years. She has received the Delehanty Award for four years, an award for athletes displaying academic excellence. Danielle is now in the process of getting a Master's degreee in High School Counseling.

Kristen Warner, Trainer
Kristen begin her club playing experience as a member of the Glen Ellyn Raiders which later became Synergy and was part of Synergy’s first graduating class in2011. Beginning in 2004, Kristen earned a position on the Illinois ODP State Team and Region II Player Pool. Prior to graduating from Glenbard South in 2011, Kristen was the team’s top goal scorer helping to secure her a spot on Western Sun Conference All-Conference team. Kristen recently finished her playing career at Valparaiso University where she led the team to a Conference Championship and birth in the NCAA tournament as a senior. She was repeatedly named as to the Horizon League All- Academic Team. She has a degree in Biology and is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Education.
Phil Duret, Trainer
Phil’s youth soccer career began in the Chicagoland area and continued in Florida with St. Pete Surf Soccer Club. Phil was selected to the Florida State Olympic Development Team in 2000 and 2001. During his high school years, he received much recognition, including All-Area and All-State selections, as well as being named MVP for 3 years. In 2004, he was named runner-up for Athlete of the Year. Phil continued playing soccer in college for Western Illinois University from 2004-2008 while completing a degree in Communications. The Western Illinois’ men’s soccer team was crowned conference champs for three years in a row, and Phil was honored as the Defensive MVP at multiple tournaments and was named to the All-Conference Second Team. Phil has earned his ‘E’ License. Prior to joining the Synergy training staff, Phil was the Junior Varsity head coach and the Varsity assistant coach at Macomb High School.
Francesca Abate, Trainer
Fran got her start playing soccer at about 6 years old and played her youth career locally with the Bartlett Travel Soccer Club and KUFC Premier. Fran was a 3 year Varsity starter at Bartlett High School where, as team captain, she earned both All-Conference and All-Area honors. She then went on to receive a scholarship to play for Lewis University where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration. As a sophomore at Lewis Fran was named to the Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Conference team. She was also awarded the Academic All-Conference award all four years, and captained the team her senior year. Fran coached for Bartlett High School summer program for 2 years and also served as the Assistant Varsity and Head JV coach for Resurrection High School.
Bruce Janek, Goal Keeper Coach
Bruce played youth soccer for a variety of clubs in the Chicagoland suburbs from 1995–2006. Bruce graduated from West Chicago Community High School in 2005 after receiving multiple soccer accolades through his high school play. He was named team captain for his final two seasons at West Chicago and also earned All-Around Team MVP, All-Conference, Honorable Mention All-Sectional, and Honorable Mention All-Area for his senior season. Bruce attended Millikin University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship in 2009. As the goalkeeper for Millikin’s soccer team, he achieved recognition as rookie of the year and as an All-Conference athlete for his defensive efforts. Bruce is a goalkeeper trainer for multiple youth clubs in the western and northern suburbs of Chicago. He has been Synergy Soccer Club’s goalkeeper trainer since 2009. Bruce has a FIFA National ‘D’ License and a NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping License.
